Library

Burntwood has a large and welcoming Library, open to all year levels throughout the course of the day. Students in Years 7-11 can visit the Library during their break and lunch times, as well as before and after school. Sixth Form students have access to study areas and computers during their free periods. The Library has a collection of over 13 000 books, both fiction and non fiction, to support students in their studies and encourage reading for pleasure. Students are able to download the Sora e-book app and access e-books via phone, tablet or computer. We also stock traditional materials such as newspapers, magazines and journals to support A Level students. The Library also provides B&W and colour printing facilities.

All Year 7 students visit the library for an induction session with their English class and all students are encouraged to visit to make use of reading books and study and revision materials. During the week we run a number of social lunch time clubs including Book club, Craft club, Games club and Drawing & Manga club. Over the School year we also run at least one Book Fair, have author visits, run themed displays and competitions and participate in local and UK-wide Book Award programmes with our Book club.

The Library is open 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
