16-19 Tuition funding
The 16-19 bursary fund has been set up to support students who have been disadvantaged by the pandemic. The purpose of the funding is to provide identified students with the academic support necessary to enable them to catch up following the pandemic.
In line with the ESFA guidance, the bursary fund will be used by Burntwood School to provide 1:1 and small group tuition for identified students in English, Maths as well as other subjects where it is clear that they have fallen behind academically. Whilst students who have not achieved a GCSE grade 4 in English and/or Maths will be prioritised, students with a GCSE grade 5 in these subjects will also be targeted. In line with the updated guidance, group sizes will be kept to up to 7, and only at this number in exceptional circumstances.
